Whitford House
The project was to design a dream home for the owners and their family with four car garaging. They favoured a classic and contemporary architecture that is timeless.
The site is located up a long driveway up a hill in rural Whitford, thereby the house is situated in a secluded location and is designed to sit within the natural contours of the site. The owners favoured brick veneer construction for a robust construction of their house.
The house entrance opens up to a double height void with a grand waterfall feature glass wall below a walkway bridge that connects the bedrooms upstairs. Good indoor/ outdoor flow of space is provided with the open plan living/ kitchen/ dining layout facing north to maximise daylighting and providing views to the nearby woods of pine trees and privacy from visible neighbours in the distance. The house is orientated to obtain the best views of the expansive rural views of the countryside and its rolling hills.
The architect was not involved in the construction administration of the project as the owners project managed their own construction with their selected builder. The actual construction of the house turned out even more beautiful in reality than the 3d visual perspective envisioned. The house is a delight to come home to at the end of a day’s work. A dream home come true.
